SONYA LEE | Toronto Studio
SONYA LEE is seeking a skilled Production Sewer to join our in-house team in Toronto. We produce high-quality leather handbags in small runs with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, precision, and longevity.
This is a hands-on role for someone experienced with industrial machines and comfortable working with structured materials such as leather.
Responsibilities
Assemble leather handbags using industrial sewing machines
Operate skiving machines, hydraulic clicker press, and debosser (training provided where needed)
Follow detailed production manuals, patterns, and technical instructions
Maintain high quality standards and perform self-QC during construction
Work collaboratively to meet weekly production targets
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Report equipment or material issues promptly
Qualification
Experience with industrial sewing machines (required)
Experience sewing leather or structured materials (strong asset)
Ability to sew straight, consistent seams with attention to detail
Comfortable working in a production environment
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
