Production Team Manager (PTM)

Temp to Perm

1st Shift: Monday to Friday 6:30am to 2:30pm.

2nd Shift: Monday to Friday 2:30pm to 10:30pm.

Might be required to work some weekends.

Salary rate: $26/h to start

Description:

The Production Team Manager (PTM) will drive performance improvements through Lean Manufacturing techniques and Strategy Deployment to achieve breakthrough business objectives. The role requires managing all production activities, coaching employees, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques and participate in planning.

• Generate performance improvements, such as decreased lead time, inventory, and costs.

• Coach employees on Lean Manufacturing culture.

• Facilitate team interactions to meet key operational objectives.

• Develop training plans for production staff and provide necessary resources.

• Provide on-the-floor training and reinforcement of Lean principles.

• Maintain a flexible and cost-effective staffing plan.

• Assign employees to specific positions.

• Lead change management initiatives.

• Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure on-time and full execution of production schedules.

• Work closely with the scheduler and other departments to address and resolve issues promptly.

• Manage and train production staff to support operations.

• Implement 5S and safety inspections for continuous improvement.

• Establish and enforce EHS rules and guidelines.

• Serve as the emergency contact for the shop floor and conduct accident investigations.

• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Efficiency ratio

• Schedule adherence

• Inventory adjustments

• On-time in full (OTIF)

Requirements:

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred (Industrial Engineering, HR Management, or Business Administration).

• Speak both English and Spanish

• Strong management background

• Minimum 4 years of experience in operations management, preferably in cosmetics or pharmaceuticals manufacturing.

• Extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Knowledge in production and processing, administration and management, customer and personal service, personnel and human resources.

• Skills in active listening, critical thinking, monitoring, speaking, coordination, time management, judgment and decision-making, and more.
