DESCRIPTION
AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every customer to grow by providing tailored service, unmatched technology, and consistent support. We dive deep to understand each customer's unique challenges, then craft innovative solutions that accelerate their success. This customer-first approach is how we built the world's most adopted cloud. Join us and help us grow.
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Canberra to work with our Public Sector customers. In this role, you'll work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives, designing and implementing tailored cloud solutions. You'll be a key player in the pre-sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer's cloud journey.
In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and leading the solution design to address customer business outcomes (CBO). Operating as the conduit between ProServe Account Executives and our Proserve Delivery Teams, you’ll ensure proposed solutions are realistic, achievable, and optimize ProServe and/or our partners to maximize customer business outcomes. As a PCA you are a trusted advisor to our customers, providing guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to address customer challenges. As a technical SME, you will share knowledge within the organization, through mentoring, training, creation of reusable artifacts and process improvements. A critical aspect of this role involves hands-on technical engagement with customers, particularly in the rapidly evolving areas of Agentic AI and Generative AI (GenAI).
Your experience in designing technical solutions within the technology/consulting sector, will equip you with the ability to architect complex, scalable, and secure cloud solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer, translating technical concepts into business value. Your success as a PCA will be linked to impacting sales, and the successful implementation of the customer solutions.
The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our team provides assistance through a collection of offerings which help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption. We also deliver focused guidance through our global specialty practices, which cover a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.
Note: Successful candidate will need to hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-and-suitability)
Key job responsibilities
As an experienced technology professional, you will be responsible for:
Strategic Direction and Development:
Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Provide technical guidance and best practices during pre-sales and implementation phases.
Define and develop overall strategic direction for AWS customers and internal AWS teams designing, building, optimizing, transforming, or otherwise migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs)
Partner with AWS Account teams and ProServe Account Executives and ProServe Delivery on accelerating innovation, account strategy, and technical execution, aligning to increase business value through cloud adoption, covering people, processes, and technology aspects.
Engage with C-level executives to guide their strategic technology initiatives and support their data transformation journeys. Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customer organizations to enable them to become cloud advocates.
Work directly with customers to understand their problem statements and use cases in Agentic AI and GenAI domains
Develop proof-of-concept solutions that align with customer objectives in the Agentic AI and GenAI space
Leadership and Collaboration:
Drive the development of outcome-based business-IT solution proposals in collaboration with sales and solution architecture teams.
Act as the AWS executive technical sponsor for strategic customer initiatives, ensuring alignment with AWS's Global Service offerings and the customer's strategic goals.
Ensure that solutions across strategic programs adhere to AWS's enterprise architecture and security best practices and principles, and achieve intended business outcomes.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge, sales, and delivery content amongst the AWS Professional Services community.
