Position: IHFC Chair Professor (2 Nos.) Location: Open Company: IHFC (I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics), Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi About the Company IHFC (I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics) has been established as the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) of the Department of Science & Technology (Ministry of Science & Technology), Govt. of India. It has been incorporated as a Section-8 (non-profit company, under the Companies Act 2013. Role Description The IHFC Chair is created to promote research and development, entrepreneurship development, human resource development, and international collaboration in the technology domain of Cobotics (Collaborative Robotics) which includes Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Manufacturing, Automation, Sensing and Communication, etc. Responsibility IHFC Chair Professor will be responsible for the following: • Promoting and supporting R&D efforts towards product development in the identified technology domain and application area. • To facilitate wider and deeper interaction between work groups and collaborators of IHFC, in general, and IITD to leverage relevant IITD faculty, students, and infrastructure in general (and the incumbent appointed against the Chair, in particular). • Undertaking a review of such projects being undertaken for technical/technology developments including the product/processes/practices/use or application/testing/input materials etc. • Promoting IHFC, its partners, and the eco-system in line with the objectives of IHFC to ensure the growth and development of IHFC. • Spend at least two days a month, and be open to travel for IHFC-related events for its image and capacity building on mutually agreed dates and places. • It is expected that at least a visit to IIT Delhi be made once a year whose duration could be counted towards the expected time in Item 5 (two days a month), and present seminar(s). The ideal profile of the IHFC Chair Professor will be a candidate with • A faculty/research professional who has done sufficient research work (and publications), in the technology domains listed above. Weightage would be given for a successful product development or technology transfer under his/her name. • The “Chair” so appointed needs to be a faculty (Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/ Professor) at one of the reputed engineering institutes/universities, or a senior professional with significant and relevant experience in an R&D organization, in/outside India. • Final selection will be based upon the recommendation of the committee set up by the Board of Directors at IHFC Age: 60 years (Maximum) Tenure: Initially for two (02) years, which may be extended further Emoluments: The chair will be paid an amount of Rs. 25000/-per month. In addition, a sum of INR 2,00,000 will be available as a professional development fund for his/her research and other professional activities (as per IHFC policy).
