About the Department

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Division

The Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Taskforce (SSPRT) is delivering major reform to senior secondary students in all Victorian Government Schools. As part of this reform, the department is investing heavily in technology to support students and staff and reduce administrative burden in schools. SSPRT is committed to ensuring school and regional staff have both the tools and skills to deliver the reform.

About the Role

The department of Education is seeking a Program Change Manger to lead program-wide change management for technology-enabled reforms in Victorian government schools. This is an exciting opportunity to drive change planning, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies across multiple projects and streams as part of the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Taskforce. We are looking for an experienced program change professional with strong people skills, a structured approach, and a commitment to ensuring effective adoption of technology-enabled reforms across the state. This is a fixed term position until 12 June 2026

Attributes

The role requires a breadth of skills, particularly in program-level stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and structured change delivery. This is a leadership role that supports and aligns multiple projects and streams across the program, ensuring consistent, effective adoption of the platform in schools while working in partnership with the department's IT division and program governance structures. The ability to communicate clearly, engage diverse audiences, and build strong relationships is essential, along with the capacity to manage complex change initiatives at scale in a dynamic reform environment.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in technical/business support or change management
