About the role

Due to internal promotions, we have two vacancies open, 12-month Max Term Contract and an Ongoing opportunity.
These roles are to lead project management activities and work with key stakeholders to manage health sector project delivery. You'll deliver activities across the full project lifecycle, including business cases, research and sector scanning for new opportunities.
Reporting to the Manager, Medical Indemnity Harm Prevention in the Health Sector Practice (within the Risk, Insurance and Claims Services Division), your role as a Program Lead - Medical Indemnity, will support the successful execution of the Harm Prevention Program.
Your work contributes towards a more confident and resilient Victoria. You will be responsible for executing a suite of initiatives that sit in the Harm Prevention program using VMIA's project management framework.

Key responsibilities

Support and work closely with the Manager, Medical Indemnity Harm Prevention to implement, plan, monitor and deliver our Harm Prevention Roadmap.
Manage the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved within expected timeframes and according to allocated budget.
Manage and identify key stakeholders within the projects within the program and collaborate with clients and business on delivery of key initiatives.
Work with a flexible, agile approach to co-design, test and improve initiatives in the Harm Prevention program of work.
Share recommendations and insights from projects with the Health Practice Insurable Risk Advisory team to inform and support our clients.
Create, deliver, and manage program artefacts, procurement processes, documentation, reports, and presentations.
Report and provide insights on progress and offer viable solutions and opportunities as they arise and identify and resolve issues and risks including risk mitigation strategies.
Who you work with

You will engage with external stakeholders in the health sector including public hospital clients, clinicians, Department of Health and Safer Care Victoria, professional colleges, universities, and other international and national health stakeholders.
Internally you will provide subject expertise and advocacy in Harm Prevention to support the management of insurable risks and working closely with Insurable Risk Advisory, Service & Delivery, Claims, Insurance, Data and Analytics, Procurement and Communications.
What we are looking for

Demonstrated experience managing complex, multifaceted projects and/or research.
Proven track record of solid stakeholder management skills. Particularly the ability to establish and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure the implementation of programs of work and efficient and effective.
Experience in Health, Business, Risk, and Insurance. Ability to work closely with Subject matter experts (including clinicians), research institutions, consultants and external stakeholders to the business on pieces of work and projects
Successful track record of implementing change management, particularly in the context of project management or business process evolution with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Strong facilitation skills, to run workshops, focus groups and presentations online and in person.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to identify and report relevant information to influence and aid decision making.
Ability to switch to different development approaches depending on the project or initiatives, including an understanding of improvement science and co-design.
Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Health, Business, Law, and any other relevant area.
It is desirable to have Project/ Program Management practice qualification and/or change management qualification or have experience in delivering projects and/or quality and/or safety improvement initiatives.

Salary Information

At VMIA, we offer competitive salaries based on the role's classification and your skills and experience. Typically, new employees start at the minimum of the salary range, however, consideration may be given to starting above the minimum of the band should you demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role or possess unique and desirable skills and capabilities required to perform the role.
