About the role:
The VPS-4 Program Officer role in the Maternal Child Health and Early Parenting (MCHEP) Unit, within the Population and Women's Health Branch in the Community and Public Health Division plays a key role in delivering on Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Early Parenting Centre (EPC) program management functions, program priorities and projects. This may include providing secretariat support for key governance structures, managing end to end contract and procurement processes, providing end to end resource management support, supporting workforce and professional development initiatives, developing communications and web materials, supporting performance and monitoring processes, providing MCHEP business support including invoice processing, preparing data and analytic reports and contributing to a broad range of written materials.
The role requires strong written, program management and project delivery capability, including contract and procurement management, budget management and reporting, and contribution to policy resolutions. The roles will work collaboratively across the Unit and with external stakeholders to deliver program and system improvements to underpin a strong, responsive and high-quality MCH and EPC service system.

How you'll make a difference:
Deliver on a broad range of program and project functions to meet departmental, program and service objectives including:
Assisting in research, analysis and implementation of projects, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
Supporting the development and delivery of projects or sub-projects and their successful delivery and completion within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
Deliver funding, performance and service monitoring processes including preparing budget, data and analytic reports.
Support end to end contract and procurement processes and provide end to end resource management support.
Provide business support across the unit including invoice processing, record management and secretariat support for key governance structures.
Contribute advice, recommendations and program options and solutions to complex and sensitive issues.
Develop a broad range of written materials on a range of matters including communications and web materials, correspondence, reports, briefs, cabinet and agency submissions
Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork by contributing to priorities and projects across the Unit.
