Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) is seeking an experienced Program Officer to help deliver a critical community emergency preparedness project.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
The Emergency Management Strategy and Capability Branch coordinates and drives emergency management strategy, policy, legislative reform, governance, capability, and risk and preparedness priorities to delivery economic, social, environmental and public safety outcomes
The Workforce, Volunteers and Community Team deliver a range of operational and strategic priorities including projects to: increase community resilience and preparedness; enhance diversity and inclusion for the Emergency sector; support emergency volunteers and sustainable volunteering; and improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes for emergency workers.

About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Program Officer is to support the delivery of the ‘Get Ready' project to enhance community emergency preparedness in Victoria.
Some of your duties will include:
Actively support workplace culture and practices that delivers on the vision of EMV, including:
participating in the PDP process, PDP goals are meaningful, measurable and compliant with all requirements
contributing to a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and actively promote a positive and respectful culture across EMV
managing and maintaining compliance with all governance requirements.
Provide project support to assist in meeting agreed project objectives, service delivery standards and timelines, stakeholder expectations and client needs.
Perform administrative and committee secretariat functions including agendas, minute taking, action and issue logs.
Support the design of stakeholder and community engagement plans and delivery of stakeholder activities including meetings, workshops, reference groups, committees and community engagement.
Develop frameworks that assist in the monitoring and evaluation of activities, and draft reports and recommendations by interpreting and analysing data.
Prepare briefs, discussion papers, presentations, and reports incorporating policy advice, project updates, and recommendations.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: project management; administrative support; procurement, grants and financial management; community resilience-building, engagement, education and/or communications.
Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Strong understanding and/or operational experience of Victoria's emergency management arrangements and policy environment is desirable.
Qualifications
A relevant tertiary qualification or other certification is desirable.
