An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Strategic Programme for Planned Care (SPPC) to support the development & implementation of the Planned Care Recovery Programme working with Clinical implementation Networks (CINs) to progress & deliver on key workstreams within the national programme.

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead a broad remit of programmes & workstreams with national strategic impact. The post provide an opportunity to make a significant impact on the outcomes & experience of planned care patients in Wales. The successful candidate will have experience of building relationships liaising with a range of stakeholders, possess a keen eye for detail, a history of supporting teams & delivering projects with high quality outcomes. Project management or service management experience preferably within the NHS & a history of leading service improvement initiatives through to implementation.

The role is focused on supporting & enabling the change required to meet the objectives of the SPPC, support CINs develop national guidance & standards, alongside programmes & CINs the SPPC, work with health boards to deliver more efficient & productive planned care pathways by identifying & implementing changes to improve care & patient outcomes, whilst delivering efficiencies & improved timeliness for care across pathways.

The Programme and Business Change Manager will be part of an All Wales approach to service and pathway improvement for Planned Care services across a number of services.

Aligned with the Strategic Programme for Planned Care, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key improvement projects within the Programmes of work across the SPPC portfolio, which will deliver quality and performance improvement in planned care cancer and diagnostic pathways across Wales.

Informed by key strategic and policy drivers such as ‘Our programme for transforming and modernising planned care in Wales and reducing waiting lists’ and NHS England’s Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) guidance, the post holder will develop and showcase skills in managing change, reducing variation and delivering exciting improvements across Wales.
