Mo te tunga | About the role
Our Programme Facilitators are based primarily at Spring Hill Corrections Facility, working with both sentenced and remand individuals to help them understand and address the causes of their offending, supporting the creation of crime-free futures.
This is achieved through the delivery of a range of clinically designed therapeutic programmes, either individually or with a co-facilitator.

Mou | About you
We are looking for someone who can actively listen and build understanding with the people we work with, and who is keen to support them to gain insight into harmful behaviours.
You will be comfortable walking alongside people on their journey, reflecting on your own practice, and contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
A sound understanding of individual and group behaviour and/or a relevant tertiary qualification (for example psychology, social work, or counselling), along with demonstrated experience in a related area, would be beneficial.

We are seeking people who:
Are effective listeners and communicators and can build strong, positive relationships with participants and stakeholders
Have knowledge of, or are willing to learn about, Maori culture, protocols and peoples, and can apply Kaupapa Maori approaches in their work
Ideally have experience delivering therapeutic interventions, either individually or in group settings
Bring life experience that enables effective work with people from diverse backgrounds and ethnic groups
Are comfortable having their practice observed and receiving regular feedback
Have experience with report writing
Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Permit holder, Australian citizen, or an Australian resident holding a current Australian Resident Return Visa. Applicants must also hold a full New Zealand driver licence.
Please note: This is a permanent full-time position, with the successful candidate starting employment on Monday 13 July 2026. The role is based within the Waikato team and is primarily located at Spring Hill Corrections Facility; however, travel outside the region may be required based on operational needs.

The salary band for this role is $70,825 - $89,406 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
