Job Description
As the Programmer Analyst 1 – Intern (Desktop Support), you will:
Assist with the day-to-day operation and troubleshooting of the Departments information systems.
Configure and troubleshoot desktop and smart devices hardware and software.
Deploy new computers (desktop & laptops), performing backup from old computers.
Perform remote and onsite troubleshooting including hardware and software issues.
Perform departmental help desk functions of problem receiving, recording, and tracking.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain systems software and hardware to end users to maintain effective and efficient system operation.
Maintain departmental hardware and software inventory records.
Meet with users to determine the information and process requirements of requested applications and/or systems.
Prepare status reports reflecting current and projected workloads.
Other duties as assigned consistent with the job classification.
Your education and qualifications include:
Successful completion of at least 1 year of a recognized university/college program in Information Systems and Technology, or equivalent.
Demonstrated knowledge of current computer hardware and software.
Demonstrated skill in the use, installation and support computers using Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 11.
Ability to install and test various applications including the Microsoft Office 365 suite. .
Successful completion of the CompTIA A+ certification is preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities.
Ability to develop effective and positive working relationships.
Ability to troubleshoot, identify and resolve problems or obtain appropriate assistance.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra, Intune and Group Policy would be an asset.
