Job Information
The Programmer/Systems Analyst (P/SA) is responsible for the full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, designing, implementing, and upgrading software systems to support Aurora College¿s operations. The role involves detailed systems analysis, programming, technical support, and ensuring smooth system integration across various platforms such as the financial system, email, learning management, and the Student Information System (SIS)¿the college's largest and most complex application with 4,000 users.
The P/SA works under the Manager of Information Systems and Technology, collaborates with internal teams and external vendors (Education, Culture, and Employment (ECE) Information Systems), and supports both technical architecture and data/reporting needs. You will also apply best practices in change management, project management, requirements gathering, and business process modeling.
This role requires strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, and deep knowledge of software development, business analysis, project management, and legislation/policy related to post-secondary education.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement IT enhancements and large-scale systems upgrades
Design and develop IT architecture, infrastructure, integration, and application environments.
Maintain IT expertise and provide IT support services.
Upon request, create reports, analysis budgets, and/or briefings.
Qualifications would be attained by:
A bachelor¿s degree in computer science or information systems and 3 years work experience in IT that includes at least 2 years as a System Analyst.
