About the role
The Programs Officer coordinates and undertakes policy and project development, providing analysis, advice and contributing to the development of a range of projects to support the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives, Government commitments and improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.

As the project officer, you will bring both demonstrated capability and commitment to:
Supporting the design and delivery of programs and initiatives that grow and strengthen Aboriginal educators and Aboriginal early childhood teachers
Contributing to workforce pathways that improve access to culturally responsive early learning services
Applying strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities, meet timeframes, and proactively drive work forward to deliver quality outcomes
Building genuine, respectful partnerships with internal teams, external partners and Aboriginal stakeholders
Communicating clearly and effectively, including preparing briefs, presentations, reports and correspondence that support informed decision-making
Demonstrating knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Essential requirements of the role
This position is designated for the employment of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in a similar role or field, and/or relevant qualifications.
