Lead the charge in shaping community-driven policies for Offshore Wind Energy Victoria, driving positive impacts for local communities and Traditional Owners.
About the role
We are looking for a strategic leader to provide expert advice on energy policy, with a focus on developing the offshore wind sector to benefit regional communities and Traditional Owners. In this pivotal role, you will analyze, develop, and recommend policy options to senior Victorian government Ministers, guiding the transition of Victoria's energy sector. You will lead key partnerships, represent Offshore Wind Energy Victoria (OWEV) in public forums, and manage community engagement efforts. Your leadership will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with government objectives, all while fostering an inclusive, culturally safe environment.

About you:
To be successful in the role, you will have;

Relevant tertiary qualifications, supported by extensive experience as an expert in the infrastructure or energy transition sector, either within government or the private sector.
Deep and thorough understanding of the Victorian and national energy transition landscape as well as regional contexts for OSW communities and TOs, with experience in partnering with communities and TOs.
Demonstrated experience in working effectively with Councils, regional communities, diverse Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal Victorians and ability to strengthen maintain and build relationships and partnerships is desirable.
About the division
The Offshore Wind Energy Victoria (OWEV) division of Energy Group is responsible for supporting the development of a thriving and commercially viable Offshore Wind industry in Victoria. The division, in coordination with the rest ofDEECA, and the broader Victorian Government, seeks to ensure a mature market is established to achieve the legislated OSW taregts of 2GW by 2032, 4 GW by 20235 and 9 GW by 2040 to support the renewable energy transition.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
