Job Description
We are currently partnering with a leading industrial manufacturing organisation to appoint a Project Engineer – Building Construction to support delivery of a significant capital investment program.
This role will suit a commercially minded construction project professional with strong Design & Construct contract experience, who is comfortable delivering complex industrial building projects within live operational environments.
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing capital delivery team working on large-scale infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery
• Lead industrial building projects from design through to handover
• Manage project schedules, milestones and delivery risks
• Coordinate with parallel workstreams including equipment installation projects
• Ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget and timeline requirements
Contract & Contractor Management
• Administer Design & Construct contracts across complex construction programs
• Manage performance of contractors, consultants and suppliers
• Assess variations, progress claims and contractual documentation
• Escalate and resolve commercial or delivery risks
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with construction safety legislation and internal systems
• Implement permit-to-work processes and site safety controls
• Drive a strong safety culture across contractors and stakeholders
Financial Management
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost control processes
• Track expenditure and manage financial risk
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership
Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with internal leadership, local councils and regulatory bodies
• Act as the key point of contact across the project lifecycle
About You • Proven experience delivering industrial building projects valued above $5m
• Strong Design & Construct contract management capability
• Background in construction, civil or industrial engineering environments
• Demonstrated contractor and principal contractor site management experience
• Strong commercial acumen including budgeting and forecasting
• Excellent stakeholder engagement capability
• Understanding of construction safety and compliance frameworks
Highly regarded:
• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
• Building trade or contractor background
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or heavy industrial environments
