About the role:
This role supports all finance and budgeting needs for Parliament’s Projects Strategy and Delivery Division and operates as a trusted finance business partner to support the Division. The primary purpose of the role is to prepare a range of budget and financial reporting on capital and recurrent project budgets, and oversight of Divisional finances and budgets for the Executive Director, Projects Strategy and Delivery and other major stakeholders. This role supports the implementation and continued monitoring of projects’ financial performance, including analysis of trends and providing insights derived from the finances.

Key accountabilities
The key accountabilities for the Project Finance Business Partner include the following.
Provide financial budgeting, reporting, and advisory support to Parliament’s project teams and the broader Projects Strategy and Delivery Division, covering projects funded through recurrent and capital allocations, to prepare accurate, timely and constructive reporting on all aspects of project performance.
Develop consolidated financial and performance reporting for the Projects Strategy and Delivery Division.
Provide input for the development of reporting of project performance to external stakeholders, including Treasury, senior management and the Presiding Officers, to provide accurate, timely and reliable information to enable executive decision-making.
Coordinate the consolidated project finance reporting for Parliament on a monthly basis.
Submit data for project budget, performance, monitoring and reporting in the NSW Treasury reporting system (PRIME) for Treasury consolidation.
Skills, experience and qualifications
Experience in finance and business analysis with advanced computer literacy, including SAP ECC6 and Oracle
Degree-level qualifications in accounting (CPA or CA) or project management from a recognised tertiary institution essential. Business or commerce degree from a recognised tertiary institution desirable but not essential.
Experience in project accounting, including reconciliation projects
Strong communication skills as a business partner in financial management
Fusion, project management platforms (Smartsheets experience desirable) and Advanced Excel
Strong understanding of WBS structures in the project management context
Skilled in Power BI (desirable but not essential)
