About the role
We are seeking a high performing and experienced Project Lead to spearhead the delivery of our large Greenfield civil construction projects in regional locations. This role will be responsible for delivering a programme of several new retirement villages for Metlifecare as we continue our business growth and extensive pipeline of work.
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, you will be part of a driven team looking to regenerate and expand our property portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage and refine templates, procedures and processes to drive more efficient and higher quality coordination and procurement.
Design Management - Managing the Civil and Earthworks design across the new developments, training and mentoring the project managers in managing the Civil design process.
Procurement - Prepare and manage large-scale civil construction project procurement, including preparation and negotiation of NZS3+10 construction contracts.
Construction Delivery - Management of the Civil construction contracts, including contractor selection, ECI agreements, tendering and construction project management of the Civil packages to deliver to the cost and time metrics.
Integration, coordination and collaboration with the wider Metlifercare vertical construction team.
Work with the senior leadership team to refine and optimise the business's delivery pipeline.
About You
With a relevant professional qualification, you are a seasoned civil project manager with commercial construction experience. You have noteworthy practical experience and management of significant project budgets, risk management and account management of stakeholders. You are highly communicative and can drive and direct projects forward. You will have
Detailed understanding of regulatory framework around civil construction and development.
Good understanding and knowledge of Statutory processes and regulations, including RMA, NZ Building Act, Local Authority approvals and Utility provider approvals.
