Role overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of solutions that meet the joint requirements of the customer's specification and the proposal submitted by IFDS. Under general supervision, this position is required to lead medium sized projects with, moderate complexity and risk for both International Financial Data Services (IFDS) and its clients from inception through completion.
The role is to provide leadership for multiple projects operating within a matrix organization which may include geographically distributed teams. The role requires working experience in scrum and waterfall methodologies and is responsible for managing project governance and adherence to defined agile/waterfall practices at IFDS.
Specific governance accountabilities include definition and maintenance of project schedules, budget tracking, status reporting, risk and issue logs management, ITIL based change management, client communications, department/enterprise/offshore co-ordination, and SCRUM elements (stand-ups, backlog grooming, estimation, productivity metrics and retrospectives).
Role Responsibilities
Schedule project activities ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints
Act as the primary liaison between project team, IT and the client. ls required to work, collaborate and communicate effectively with senior management, stakeholders, vendors and client partners, with support from the portfolio director
Coordinate all aspects of project delivery including scope management, backlog management, backlog refinement, estimation, budget, sprint planning, change requests...etc.
Maintain regular communications via accurate, clear and concise project status reports with clients, relationship management, business stakeholders and the product owner (PO) with support from the portfolio director
Facilitate scrum ceremonies through project life cycle - backlog creation & grooming, sprint planning, stand ups, product demo and retrospective
Maintain work management software (MSP/Jira/ SharePoint/ Clarity etc.) to reflect the current status of execution. Ensure agile project governance is adhered to, including velocity, commitment adherence, burn-down along with release prediction etc.
Proactively identify, quantify, mitigate, and manage project risks and issues with support from the portfolio director
Work closely with resource and functional managers to ensure each project is properly staffed
Build a high-performance team including conflict resolution, and providing feedback on individual performance to functional managers with support from the portfolio director
Act as a coach / mentor to the project team members to evangelize and implement the agile practices with support from the portfolio director
Work with the PM practice team to recommend and participate in process/ continuous improvements.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience; of which at least 1 year in delivering with agile methodology like Scrum or SAFe.
Experience leading multiple, concurrent medium sized system development projects, with mid-level complexity and risk. These projects are typically under 1500 days of effort and/ or have teams of 15-25 resources.
Working knowledge of project management methodology including plan development, scheduling, project reporting, risk and issue assessment, budgeting, and ability to deliver results.
Detail oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous.
Strong organizational, leadership, decision making and facilitation skills.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of financial services industry
Experience working for an IT vendor in a client facing role.
University degree in related field considered an asset
PMI/Scrum Master certification considered an asset.

Salary Range
Pay Range (CAD $):109,000 - 137,000
The above reflects an industry-benchmarked target compensation range. The salary offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business needs.
