Job Description
As a leader within Operations change management, you will play a significant role in our global organisation. Your knowledge of Banking Operations and Project Management will help teams raise their game, meeting your standards as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements. Your expertise will be counted on to set strategic direction and solve complex and critical challenges internally and externally. You will have ownership for the delivery of key outcomes aligned to the OTC Derivatives product Vision and Strategy.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including the ability to:
• Partner with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple Markets Operations teams to define post-trade priorities and outcomes
• Lead engagement with Technology to deliver Digital Ops solutions that create optimal benefits across the end-to-end process life cycle
• Encourage teams to deliver incremental improvements to processes and controls
• Tailor delivery of solutions to clients whilst recognizing the need to uphold JPM's standards and operating principles
• Leverage risk management mind-set to ensure compliance with relevant internal and external policies & procedures
• Handle escalations objectively and create safe environment for staff to freely raise control concerns or events without hesitation
• Support the development of a strong vision, influencing at all levels through the organisation, and flexing message and approach based on audience and context
• Balance the structure and control of successfully delivering large multi-year programmes with being outcome-focussed and able to deal with changing priorities and external factors
Key Responsibilities include
• Collaborate with Technology, Operations and project teams to elicit and prioritise requirements
• Create and maintain the Product Backlog in JIRA
• Create and facilitate user stories, document requirements, acceptance criteria & test scenarios
• Refine the Product Backlog regularly with frequent communication with AD team & stakeholders
• Participate in Sprint Planning, reviews and retrospectives to define the theme and goals of each Sprint
• Inspect progress at the end of every Sprint and accept or reject work done
• Demo the product to key stakeholders and customers
• Ensure proper governance is established around key projects and processes
• Provide robust communication to stakeholders for program updates
• Provide escalation of issues and blockers to stakeholders and program manager
• Develop an end-to-end understanding of Derivatives procession, initiatives, issues & objectives
• Perform analysis to review controls and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies / effectiveness
• Engage in new design discussions and document existing and future workflow processes
• Assist with developing training materials, coordinate/conduct training sessions
Core Skills
• Project Management or Business Analysis experience
• Experience in a Banking Core Operations line role or Banking project team
• Knowledge of the operational process for Confirmations/Affirmations and/or Settlements
• Capacity to understand the big picture and where specific deliveries fit within it
• Strong analytical mindset, strategic thinker, possesses high attention to detail
• Able to build strong partnership with various teams globally and across Technology and Operations to help deliver results
• Pro-active problem solving with focus on solution development
• Self-starter with ability to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Able to articulate in a clear/concise manner, influencing and contributing where required
• Ability to engage and influence at all levels
• Ability to work effectively independently and as a key contributor in the Area Product Team
• Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Excellent time management and planning skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively
• Drive innovation and creativity
Preferred Skills
• Professional project management qualification: PMP/CAPM or equivalent preferred
• Experience in Agile and Scrum framework is an added advantage
• Knowledge of Derivatives, Commodities and Currencies product set
