The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture, also known as Foundation House, is a leader in delivering specialist trauma-focused services that work with the strengths and resilience of refugees, their families, and communities to rebuild lives shattered by torture and other traumatic events.

The Practice Excellence area is core to ensuring that the services provided by Foundation House to individuals and communities are delivered to the highest standard and are in line with organisational purpose, priorities, and obligations.

The Role
The Project Officer - Professional Learning and Workforce Development plays a pivotal role in supporting the Practice Development team, within the Practice Excellence area, to design, develop, and deliver professional learning initiatives to support the skills and capabilities of Foundation House staff and others working in the mental health and wellbeing sectors.

Reporting to the Professional Learning and Workforce Development Coordinator, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating online course content, developing educational resources, and ensuring effective communication and marketing strategies. Additionally, the Project Officer has a key role in managing the logistics and administration of professional learning events.

Key responsibilities include:
Collaborate with the Practice Development team, and other subject matter experts, to design and develop online and hybrid training modules within the Foundation House Learning Management System, ensuring alignment with learning objectives.
Assess, gather feedback, evaluate, and make recommendations on the design and delivery of course revisions based on participant feedback, technological updates, and organisational priorities to ensure continuous improvement.
Contribute to the development of new training resources including written and audiovisual material, including filming and editing.
Contribute to the project management of new online and in-person learning modules, under the direction of the Coordinator, Professional Learning and Workforce Development, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
Identify, set-up, coordinate and troubleshoot the use of technological systems to support professional learning program operations, including but not limited to Arlo, Moodle, InDesign, Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), and Payment Express.
Contribute to the coordination and smooth running of online and in-person professional learning events including scheduling, participant registrations and attendance, resource preparation, catering, and room set-up.
We’re seeking a proactive and adaptive team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces variety in their work. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail. Confidence and skill with software and technology is a must.

The role is available as a 7-month contract position, is full-time and based in our Brunswick head office.

What you’ll need to successfully apply
To be successful, you will need to positively respond to the below selection criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualification, for example – Communications, Visual Communications and Design, Education, Instructional Design, Media, or Psychology.
Proven experience managing small projects and working as part of a project team; able to effectively manage deadlines and competing priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with others to achieve team goals.
Experience establishing and accurately maintaining electronic filing systems.
Software and computer skills that can be applied to online learning, resource design, registration systems, and communications programs. For example, Moodle, Adobe suite, Office 365, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, Eventbrite, Arlo, Microsoft Forms, etc.
Experience designing, developing, and managing basic online courses within an LMS and filming/editing audiovisual content is advantageous.
