Job Description
Aurora Energy powers the communities of Ōtepoti Dunedin, Central Otago/Wānaka and Tāhuna Queenstown. Our programmes are growing in scale and complexity, and we’re looking for a Project Performance Analyst who can turn large, complex programme data into meaningful insight, lift visibility, and give leaders the confidence to make fast, accurate decisions.
If you’re someone who doesn’t just report numbers but actually understands what they mean, this role is where your input genuinely matters.
The Opportunity
You’ll sit at the centre of performance, forecasting and programme visibility across:
The Annual Works Programme
Customer Initiated Works (3rd party)
Corrective and defects work
You’ll help Aurora get a much clearer picture of what work is happening, when it’s happening, and how well it’s tracking. You’ll create easy‑to‑understand reports for managers and the Board and play a key role in lifting how the whole organisation measures and delivers performance.
This isn’t a traditional analyst role, it’s broader, more impactful and far more influential.
What you'll be doing:
Analyse programme phasing, sequencing, constraints and performance
Sharpen forecasting accuracy across CAPEX and OPEX
Identify risks, bottlenecks and gaps early
Build dashboards that people actually use
Turn large datasets into clear, practical decision‑making information
Work across SAP, Maximo, Sentient and Power BI
Strengthen the connection between planning, delivery and reporting
About You
You’ll likely come from a project, portfolio, commercial, financial or PMO environment within utilities, infrastructure, construction, or another asset‑heavy setting. You understand CAPEX and OPEX and know what good forecasting looks like.
You are someone who:
Joins the dots others miss
Asks better questions
Doesn’t wait for instruction
Is curious, analytical and detail‑oriented
Stays calm under pressure
Works well with engineers, planners, finance teams and service providers
Turns information into meaningful insight
Why this role matters
Better forecasting means better planning
Better visibility strengthens delivery
Better insights improve decision‑making
Why Aurora?
Aurora Energy is purpose‑driven and future‑focused. You’ll join a team that values evidence, clarity and proactive thinking. You’ll work with leaders who want insight, not noise, and the impact of your work will be visible and significant.
