About Civil Law Service for Aboriginal Communities (CLSAC)


The Civil Law Service for Aboriginal Communities (CLSAC) is a statewide team delivering targeted civil law services to Aboriginal people through phone, audio-visual, and outreach.

CLSAC provides legal assistance, casework support, financial counselling and community legal education, working in partnership with Aboriginal communities and other services.


The service also delivers the Aboriginal Women Leaving Custody (AWLC) program, which provides a culturally safe and holistic legal services to Aboriginal women in correctional centres across NSW, with a focus on housing and homelessness-related issues. The team’s work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and grounded in respect for self-determination and addressing systemic barriers.


About the role


The primary purpose of the role is to provide high level project and administrative support to the Civil Law Service for Aboriginal Communities (CLSAC), including supporting the delivery of both outreach services in remote and regional communities and the Aboriginal Women Leaving Custody service to Aboriginal women in custody and the Homeward Sisters program.


The role supports the delivery and the administration of these specialised services.


About you


You are an organised and capable project support professional with strong administrative skills and a proactive approach to supporting service delivery. You are confident coordinating activities, managing competing priorities, and providing high quality support in a fast paced, community focused environment.


You have a strong commitment to improving access to justice for Aboriginal people and communities and bring a culturally safe, respectful and strengths based approach to your work. You are comfortable engaging with Aboriginal clients and working alongside solicitors, community organisations and government stakeholders.


You communicate clearly and professionally, can manage sensitive information with discretion, and remain calm and resilient when working with clients who may be distressed or experiencing disadvantage. You are adaptable, take initiative, and work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
