About the Office of the PVC (ILE)

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement) provides University-wide leadership in Indigenous education, research, employment, and advancement. As part of the senior leadership team, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement) (PVC (ILE)) drives the implementation of UTS’s Indigenous Policy and related strategies, advancing the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, promoting Indigenous teaching and research, supporting Indigenous staff employment, and leading engagement across the University and community. The Office is led by the PVC (ILE), who also serves as Executive Director of the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research.

About the role

The Project Support Officer is responsible for providing high-level support for a broad range of strategic projects overseen by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement) (PVC (ILE)), under the direction of the Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance. Strategic projects include those detailed in UTS’ Indigenous strategies, UTS strategies and the Universities Australia Indigenous Strategy.

About You

As the Project Support Officer, you will:

Prepare standard project progress reports and presentations on behalf of the Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance and other project leads as directed.
Maintain comprehensive project records, including project establishment documentation (e.g. business cases, reviews and project briefs), records of consultation and evaluation outcomes, and associated project budgets and high-level schedules.
In consultation with the Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance and other project leads as directed, prepare project manuals to ensure clarity and continuity of project administration.
Create and maintain project databases and other registers to track progress, participation and engagement, and other KPIs as defined in relation to each individual project.
Under the direction of the Manager, Strategy, Projects and Governance, develop and maintain project Teams sites, SharePoint sites, and project web pages in accordance with MCU digital presence guidelines and protocols.

With examples from your previous work experience, please outline, in a separate document, how you meet the following five selection criteria points below:
Understanding or ability to develop understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols and engage with all staff in a manner that is respectful, collegiate and thoughtful. This will also include ability to recognise priorities based on Indigenous values and processes to ensure an atmosphere of cultural safety in the professional context.
Excellent project administration and organisation skills, including the ability to develop and refine procedures and systems to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Demonstrated attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy, quality and continuous improvement.
Experience providing administrative support to complex projects, including the development and maintenance of effective administrative systems, and technical and/or process-based solutions to support project outcomes.
Excellent time management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities and meet conflicting deadlines.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $97,332 - $105,385 pa (HEW 6)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
