Description
As a Project Support Officer, you will be given the unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence capability.
As an APS 5 Project Support Officer you will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex project work, and have a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
Your responsibilities will require you to develop and apply your project administration and support skills that support the delivery of new ADF capability. As a Project Support Officer, you will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex project support work within an integrated workforce (public servants, Australian Defence Force members and contractors).
About our Team
The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group procures and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Systems Division acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.

The right person for this role will be able to collaborate effectively with the project team, as well as with external stakeholders, in order to develop, coordinate and maintain logical project work plans to deliver the required capability. You will enjoy working across a variety of tasks such as scheduling, procurement and project administration.
You will use your initiative to make informed decisions and solve problems relating to your areas of responsibility. You will assist project managers to develop and maintain detailed schedules to support the delivery of capability to achieve organisational objectives, while continuing to pursue your own self-development goals.
The APS 5 Project Support Officer may be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
