Job Description
Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking a senior projects lawyer with 7+ years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development, ideally with prior in-house legal experience at a developer, energy company, or infrastructure firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project development within the renewable energy, energy transition, or oil & gas sectors, with substantial experience managing complex transactions and advising on risk allocation in large-scale infrastructure projects.
This role requires significant experience drafting and negotiating key project documents, including:
Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements
Operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements
Equipment supply and procurement agreements
Power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other development-related contracts
This is an opportunity to advise on high-profile, innovative projects in renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, and other energy transition technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with leading developers, investors, and energy companies in a Band 1 Chambers-ranked Projects team that handles some of the most sophisticated and cutting-edge transactions in the global market.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in projects, construction, and development
Prior in-house experience at an energy company, developer, or infrastructure firm strongly preferred
Deep knowledge of risk allocation, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic legal and business advice
Experience with renewable energy projects and energy transition technologies preferred
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Strong academic credentials

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience.The full time base annual salary for this position in the Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco market is expected to range between $250,000 - $450,000.This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
