Job Overview: Network Security Proxy Specialist
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 3 to 6 years in Network Security
Role Summary:
The Proxy L1 role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in network security, specifically focused on managing and maintaining proxy solutions. The candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of proxy infrastructure, ensuring adherence to security policies and standards. Strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Proxy Management: Oversee the configuration, administration, and monitoring of proxy solutions, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to security policies.
2. Deployment and Integration: Implement proxy solutions and integrate them with various management and authentication authorization tools such as email, Active Directory (AD), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
3. Automation and Scripting: Utilize scripting and configuration tools for automating processes, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining operations (e. G., SOAR tools).
4. Incident Management: Lead incident monitoring, analysis, and response efforts, conducting troubleshooting across different OSI model layers to resolve network issues promptly.
5. Policy Management: Develop and maintain access and security policies for proxy solutions, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and procedures.
6. Performance Monitoring: Conduct daily performance checks, audits, and compliance assessments, proactively addressing network events to prevent service degradation.
7. Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, inventory records, and security documentation to support operational activities.
8. Collaboration and Support: Coordinate with internal IT teams, application support teams, and external vendors for troubleshooting, incident resolution, and support escalation.
9. Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development within the team.
10. Compliance and Audit: Address compliance and audit requirements, ensuring closure of audit points within agreed timelines and implementing patch updates and upgrades as necessary.
11. Communication: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively communicating with stakeholders and producing detailed reports and SLA metrics.
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in network security, with at least 1 years focused on proxy solutions.
- Proficiency in managing proxy infrastructure and integrating with various management tools.
- Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across network layers and protocols.
- Knowledge of packet capture and analysis tools (e. G., Wireshark).
- Familiarity with security standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 environment and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Product certifications in Netskope/Mc Afee Proxy are preferred. - Leadership experience and the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
