Are you passionate about trees, love working outdoors, and take pride in delivering high-quality work? Knox City Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pruning Crew Member.
As a valued member of our Tree Crew, you will be responsible for delivering proactive and reactive tree maintenance across Knox’s beautiful streetscapes and parks. This hands-on role is essential in enhancing the health, safety, and amenity value of our urban forest while engaging positively with our community.
This is a full time role based at operations centre.
This is a Band 3 classified role. Remuneration will be $68,027.02 to $72,630.73 gross per annum depending on experience, plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
Passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to follow direction in an adaptable and physically demanding environment
Proficiency in the operation of required plant such as Chipper, Truck, Chainsaws, Polesaws, Blower and Winch
Proficiency in maintenance of required plant
Ability to bend, twist and lift up to 15kg repetitively in all weather conditions
Ability to undertake industry standard tree pruning and removal techniques such as tree felling, tree uplifting, formative pruning and dismantling of logwood
Ability to identify and navigate site specific hazards such as uneven ground, branches, slippery surfaces and complete hazard assessment reports
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
A high commitment to customer service
Delivery of all set works within required timeframes and the completion of detailed and accurate documentation
Ability to implement traffic management plans and undertake traffic control
