We are seeking an experienced and recovery‑focused Psychosocial Recovery Coach to join our growing team and support NDIS participants living with psychosocial disability to build capacity, resilience, and independence.
This role operates under a billable‑based model, suited to practitioners who are confident managing their time, documentation, and caseload while delivering high‑quality, recovery‑oriented supports.
About the Role
As a Psychosocial Recovery Coach, you will work alongside participants to:
Strengthen self‑direction and decision‑making
Build capacity to manage supports and navigate systems
Reduce reliance on crisis and acute services over time
Support recovery goals in line with NDIS plans
This is not a case management or therapy role. The focus is on coaching, capacity‑building, and empowerment, consistent with NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching guidelines.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecovery‑Oriented Coaching
Support participants to identify and progress recovery goals
Build skills in self‑advocacy, planning, and problem‑solving
Strengthen informal and formal support networks
Support understanding and effective use of NDIS plans in a recovery context
Systems Navigation & Collaboration
Support participants to engage with health, community and psychosocial services
Work collaboratively with families, carers, providers and professionals
Identify risks early and escalate appropriately while maintaining autonomy
Documentation & Billable Performance
Deliver supports in line with NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching line items
Maintain accurate, timely and NDIS‑compliant case notes
Record billable activity in accordance with organisational requirements
Meet agreed billable hour expectations while maintaining quality outcomes
About You
You are:
Recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed and person‑centred
Comfortable working with fluctuating capacity and complex psychosocial needs
Confident working autonomously in a billable‑based environment
Skilled in reflective practice, professional judgement and ethical decision‑making
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:
Qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services, Human Services, Education, or a related field
Demonstrated experience supporting people living with psychosocial disability
Strong understanding of recovery‑oriented practice and NDIS requirements
Ability to clearly differentiate recovery coaching from support coordination or therapy
Desirable:
Experience delivering Psychosocial Recovery Coaching under the NDIS
Experience supporting participants with complex or high‑risk needs
Knowledge of community, health and mental health service systems
Compliance Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
National Police Check
Ability to work in line with the NDIS Code of Conduct and Practice Standards
