What You’ll Do:
As a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist, you will work with individual children, youth, adults and families, helping them function more effectively and achieve holistic health, with the aim to find balance between spiritual, social, physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being. You will provide counselling focused on helping clients take responsibility for their lives by accessing their own inner resources and solutions, and by developing skills to enhance healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities:
· Individual and family therapy for people across the life span.
· Assess the unique needs of individuals and family members then formulate and implement counselling plan.
· Advocate for clients when appropriate, liaising with other community agencies and organizations.
· Network with outside agencies fostering strong working relationships with community organizations.
· Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
What We’re Looking For:
We value diverse perspectives and experiences. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
· A Master’s Degree in Counselling, Social Work (clinical stream), Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Creative Arts Therapies, or related discipline from a recognized university.
· Professional accreditation in good standing and registration/certification with a licensing or, certifying body and understanding of, and adherence to its code of ethics: CCPA,MCSW,CAMFT,CPCA.
· 3+ years experience (200+ clinical hours per year) working with individuals, adult, youth, children, and families in a therapeutic setting.
· 3 years experience in trauma, secondary traumatic stress, complex trauma, and post traumatic stress disorder.
· An understanding of attachment theory and how it relates to case conceptualization for people across the life span.
· Certification to administer EMDR.
· Demonstrated cultural competency including familiarity with the Truth and Reconciliation’s Calls to Action and using an anti-racist practice framework.
· Alignment with the human, spiritual, and social values as outlined in Aulneau Renewal Centre’s mission statement.
· Ability to speak an Indigenous language, or French fluency, an asset.
· Professional liability insurance coverage of $2,000,000.
