Provide leadership within the team, supervising and coaching other team members to develop their knowledge and experience.
Build and sustain productive relationships with team members, colleagues and program areas to support the delivery of departmental priorities.
Please note that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
Our ideal candidate will have:

Experience driving evidence-lead communication - monitor emerging communication and media issues, trends, and sentiment relevant to government and departmental priorities, and using this data to inform approach.
Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and complete a range of projects and activities within set timeframes.
Experience negotiating with influence in order to achieve the best communication outcomes.
Please note:
This role may require work to be performed out-of-business hours and in response to a 24/7 media cycle and crisis communication.
