Job Description

AVANI Central Melbourne Residences is excited to expand our housekeeping department, with multiple casual opportunities now available for Common Area Cleaners.


The Housekeeping department is integral to ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining productivity, and upholding the high standards of cleanliness and presentation set by Minor Hotels. The Common Area Cleaner involves servicing, cleaning, and maintaining shared guest areas throughout the property.


Key Responsibilities Include:

Cleaning and maintaining all common guest areas to the highest standards, ensuring all areas are always hygienic and visually appealing.
Collaborating with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
Adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards.
Using specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively - with all training and tools provided.
Building strong, professional relationships with team members and guests to help foster a positive, respectful work environment.
Shift Details (subject to change):

Monday to Sunday
Shifts starting at 8:00 am

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $31.19 per hour
Saturday: $37.43 per hour
Sunday: $43.66 per hour


Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

Previous experience in a resort or hotel environment is highly regarded.
Experience in operating a steam cleaner.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
