About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Health Advisor to join our team at the City of New York. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and transmitting medical records from assigned schools to the Central Health office.
Key Responsibilities:
Collecting and transmitting medical records from assigned schools to the Central Health office
Creating and updating school health records
Establishing and maintaining a working relationship with school personnel
Ensuring that students' equipment is functioning and properly used, maintaining adequate storage of students' medication
Transcribing medical information as received, assisting self-directed students with their own medication
Documenting observations on the Medication Logs and students' medical records
Performing simple first aid
Participating in agency-wide activities for Emergency Preparedness
Requirements:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education or in health, social or biological sciences; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease intervention/prevention program, performing one or more of the following: interviewing, conducting field investigations, assessing health risks, making referrals, or collecting and analyzing epidemiological data;
