About the role
This is a full time, office-based marketing position within a growing team. Collaborating with colleagues from marketing, product management and technical support within the Carrier GCS UK business (Carrier, Riello, Vokera and Toshiba brands), generating digital content and ensuring revenue growth for the UK business.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced PR Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing our media presence in the trade media for HVAC and specialist consumer media sectors. This role involves working closely with our existing PR agencies to ensure consistent and effective communication of our brands and products.
As a PR Officer you'll be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing media strategies to promote our HVAC products and services in trade and specialist consumer media.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key media contacts and journalists.
• Coordinating with PR agencies to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
• Cowriting and distributing press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
• Monitoring media coverage and preparing regular reports on media activities and outcomes.
• Organising and managing press events, interviews, and media briefings.
• Responding to media inquiries and managing crisis communication when necessary.
• Collaborating with internal teams, including marketing, product management, and customer service, to gather information and create compelling stories.
To be successful in the role you should have:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a press officer or similar role, preferably within the HVAC industry.
• Strong understanding of trade media and specialist consumer media.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with PR agencies and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
