From 1 bobcat 20 years ago, North Star Contracting Inc. is now a full-service civil contracting company with over 150 employees working in the Underground Utilities, Paving, Concrete and Surface Industries. Duties and Responsibilities:
Haul aggregates to various work sites in Calgary and the surrounding area.
Load and unload equipment and secure loads for transportation as required (small paver and rollers with a tag trailer).
Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advises the Dispatch Supervisor
Always keep truck in clean and professional condition.
Complete daily accurate pre-inspections, regulatory logs (e-logs), and timesheets.
Complete daily accurate Field Level Hazard Assessment sheets for all worksites.
Qualifications and Experience:
A minimum 2-year commercial driving experience.
Must have a valid Class 1 driver’s license and provide current 5-year commercial drivers abstract.
Must be able to drive standard (18 speed).
Experience with a quad would be an asset.
Experience spreading aggregates would be an asset.
Active Standard First Aid Certification is considered an asset.
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification will be provided.
Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck and/or trailer.
Must have own transportation with strong knowledge of Calgary and surrounding area.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends.
Must have CSA approved safety boots.
Able to climb up and down from equipment.
