About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials and services that support production, aftermarket operations, and inventory management.

You will manage end-to-end purchasing activities, work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and contribute to sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain

Key Responsibilities

Raise and manage purchase orders in the ERP system in line with demand and procurement policies
Monitor orders through to delivery, managing delays, backorders, and changes as required
Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times
Support supplier negotiations within delegated authority
Assist with onboarding new suppliers, including documentation and system setup
Identify and evaluate new suppliers to support cost, quality, and supply continuity
Support sourcing activities (RFQs, supplier comparisons, and recommendations)
Work closely with production, planning, and engineering teams to ensure material availability
Coordinate logistics and freight, resolving delivery issues where needed
Maintain accurate purchasing data and support reporting on orders, supplier performance, and spend
Contribute to continuous improvement and category management initiatives

About you

Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong understanding of purchase order management, supplier coordination, and lead times
Experience using ERP systems and maintaining accurate data
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Ability to collaborate across teams and build strong working relationships
