Job Description
Summary of the role:
As a QA Automation Engineer, you'll design and develop automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Cucumber BDD for web applications and Rest Assured Cucumber for REST APIs. You'll execute tests across environments, integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines, and perform data-driven testing with TestNG/JUnit. This role requires strong proficiency in Java/JavaScript, experience with Git and Maven/Gradle, and a collaborative approach to understanding application functionality and participating in Agile ceremonies.
What you will do:
Design and develop automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Cucumber BDD framework
Create and maintain Rest Assured Cucumber test suites for REST API automation
Write feature files in Gherkin syntax and implement corresponding step definitions
Execute automated test suites in different environments (Dev, QA, Staging)
Knowledge of automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Azure)
Perform data-driven testing using TestNG/JUnit frameworks
Generate and analyze test execution reports (Extent Reports, Allure)
Collaborate with developers to understand application functionality
Participate in sprint planning and provide testing estimates
Maintain test automation documentation and best practices
Good to have Playwright automation experience
Good communication skills along with understanding of software development cycle
Well versed with Agile based tools like Jira, Scrum, Confluence
What you bring:
4-6 years in Web based and API Automation
Proficiency in Java/JavaScript for automation scripting
Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
Strong knowledge of Cucumber BDD framework
Experience with Rest Assured Cucumber for API automation
Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Knowledge of Maven/Gradle build tools
Knowledge of cloud testing platforms (AWS/ Azure)
