Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities. We are looking to hire a strong QA manager who can lead a mid size team of quality engineers for a critical large value payment processing platform. This is a global application, based in EMEA region and the team operates in Agile environment. The role will have a mix of hands on activities and team leadership responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Manages initiatives related to Quality Engineering/testing process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists who work with technology project managers, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach • Manages a quality team of around 10-15 test engineers, which can grow over time • Is able to work in EMEA hours (1pm to 10pm IST) to better coordinate with the business • Should develop SME knowledge on the application/business process and play the role of quality guardian for the business and IT • Should have strong communication skills and able to represent QA status to PMO and project stakeholders • Collaborates effectively with development team, operations and product teams to understand requirements, determine test coverage, explain test results and discuss risks • Responsible to identify process gaps and implement changes to improve application quality and QA efficiency • Candidate will ensure timely tracking of CQE metrics, initiatives • Develops a standard set of (organizational level) metrics related to the cost, effort and milestones of IT Quality activities. • Requires in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within IT Quality and has basic commercial awareness. • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc. • Management responsibility for a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. Qualifications: • At least 10 years experience in an test automation with commensurate people management experience. • Experience working in a large banking or financial services environment is preferred • Payments domain knowledge and GPP product experience preferred • Strong knowledge on QA process in Agile framework • Experience managing a mid-size team of testers across locations • Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders across tech, ops and product • Knowledge on test automation process, tools and frameworks • Jira and zephyr experience, including ability to prepare reports and dashboards • Good defect triaging skills • Proven organizational and time management skills. • Demonstrates quality improvements and metrics gathering • Requires communication and diplomacy skills and an ability to persuade and influence. Education: • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
