Job Description
The lead QA engineer role will lead the team of QA Engg and testing of customization as per the defined SOW, preparing test cases and being responsible for the quality of delivery.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for creating test plans and strategy
• Reviews and re-evaluates the test strategy to adjust for new information, changing risks, shifting priorities, and schedules.
• Oversees testing of software features
• Oversees quality review of various applications
• Oversees projects to make sure work is scheduled based on priorities, risks and team strengths and assignment of resources across projects
• Oversees implementation and execution of functional, regression, and acceptance tests
• Assists in test environment setup/teardown, test automation, and exploratory testing.
• Oversees the creation and maintenance of test data and test documentation
• Provides suitable solutions for issues/errors based on the understanding of the system and client business processes
• Leads/mentors Test Engineers and shares knowledge to make sure QA staff meets technical qualifications required for their positions
• Ability to work independently as well as with the team.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional team members
• Assists in coaching junior staff, by helping them to make decisions, solve problems, manage meetings and set goals, provide feedback on testing-related tasks, delegate and assigns testing responsibilities
• Assists in formulating QA standards and best practices, organizational policies and processes and strategic plans
• Assists management in setting the direction for quality assurance within the organization
• Assists in recruiting new staff, conducting interviews and evaluating potential candidates
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional
• 5+ years of relevant software testing experience and team leading experience.
• Should have good working knowledge of Manual Testing
• Automation Testing will be a plus point.
• In-depth understanding of Node.js, Python, PHP, Laravel.
• Understand business use cases/user stores and develop test cases/scripts
• Perform manual QA testing including functional testing, regression testing, system testing, white box testing, and black box testing
• Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements, functional specifications and design documents
• Solid knowledge of QA testing methodologies, concepts, processes, and documentation
• Ability to automate at UI/API/Database level and apply the same in their testing
• Required knowledge of API testing and DB testing along with performance testing.
• Solid experience working with web based user interfaces, mobile applications with tools like Postman etc
• Assists management in setting the direction for quality assurance within the organization
