Hungry, Humble, Honest with a Heart. QA Manager/ Senior QA Manager (Insights/NCC)
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a seasoned QA Engineering Manager to join the Nutanix Insights/NCC team and drive the quality efforts for our on-prem and cloud releases. The Insights/NCC team works on developing a health monitoring and alerting platform for all Nutanix services. It also provides an end-end telemetry platform which includes telemetry data collection via agents and a big data pipeline which provides capabilities such as data transformation / processing, data warehousing and data analytics. The projects can range from supporting data collection in virtualized environments, enabling remote collection of diagnostics information from customer data centers to analyzing best practices recommendations based on workload. The candidate will have an opportunity to lead and mentor the QA team in India and ensure it works well in conjunction with the team in the US. The candidate is expected to drive clarity and improve processes in the software quality life cycle, assist in release management with cross functional teams, and improve the overall quality of our products.
Your role:
• People Management
• Lead and grow a strong software engineering team of QA engineers spread across multiple locations in India by focussing on establishing a culture of empowerment and growth
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, and career planning of engineers.
• Product and Technical
• Collaborate with the Development team, Product Management, and Customer Support teams in defining the technical roadmap.
• End-to-end product quality ownership with all aspects of the test, automation, release and also tracking quality post release via CFDs, CFIs
• Drive constant ways to improve existing test frameworks/libraries, automated tests, and overall test execution efficiency.
• Help the team to achieve 100% automation with high-quality test automation scripts
• Engineering Process & Release Management
• Define test strategy, detailed test plan, automation plan, resource plan and identify risks/dependencies for each of the projects involved within release timelines
• Timely reporting and escalation of current project status with quality metrics, bug reports, and release readiness
• Collaborate with Program Management to define release process for payloads from cross functional teams as part of the Insights/NCC releases
What you will bring:
• BA, BS, or MS degree in computer science or related streams
• 12+ years experience in software QA, automation using Python/Perl/Golang/Java (Python and Golang preferred)
• 2+ years experience in software QA Management
• Strong working experience with Linux and Distributed Software Systems.
• Experience working with Big Data technologies and one or more of the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP etc)
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Having an owner's mindset and experience working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Good understanding and working experience in SaaS technology development best practices (such as Agile)
