Job Title: QA Python Automation Engineer

Location: Work From Home (Remote)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a QA Python Automation Engineer with expertise in API testing and strong SQL skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role requires working in night shifts and collaborating closely with development teams to enhance testing efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Python for web applications and APIs.
Perform API testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate backend data integrity and perform database testing.
Develop, maintain, and enhance test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure seamless testing and deployment.
Conduct performance testing and security testing where required.
Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and industry guidelines in automation testing.
Provide regular reports on test execution status and contribute to improving the test strategy.
Must-Have Technical Skills:

Automation Testing:

Strong experience in Python automation frameworks (Pytest, Robot Framework, or similar).
Hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver for UI automation.

API Testing & Database:

Expertise in REST API and SOAP API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or Python requests library.
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for database validation.
Experience with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration:

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Version control using Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.

Test Management & Defect Tracking:

Familiarity with JIRA, TestRail, or similar test management tools.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

Experience with Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Exposure to Performance Testing (JMeter, LoadRunner) and Security Testing.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for test environment setup.

Day-to-Day Activities:

Writing and maintaining automation test scripts for functional and regression testing.
Performing manual and exploratory testing when necessary.
Conducting API testing and validating database records.
Troubleshooting test failures and collaborating with developers to resolve issues.
Monitoring CI/CD pipelines and ensuring automated test execution.
Attending stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Documenting test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports.
Qualification & Soft Skills:

Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote work environment.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.
