Position Overview
The Qualified Plumber is responsible for carrying out all aspects of civil and residential plumbing works while managing a team and completion of the job. The role involves interpreting plans, installing and maintaining plumbing systems, coordinating with team members and site supervisors, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard in compliance with Queensland plumbing and WHS regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing Works
Install, repair, and maintain water, sewerage, stormwater, and gas systems.
Undertake civil plumbing and drainage works for residential and commercial developments.
Interpret and work from construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
Conduct testing and commissioning of plumbing systems in accordance with AS/NZS 3500 and QBCC requirements.
Complete maintenance and repair work as required on existing systems.
Ensure compliance with local authority and legislative requirements (WHS Act 2011, Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018).
Safety & Compliance
Participate in daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Ensure PPE is worn and maintained in good condition at all times.
Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Follow STAK Civil Earthmoving & Plumbing’s WHS procedures and uphold company values of safety and quality.
Communication & Teamwork
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and site personnel.
Assist in coordinating subcontractors and material deliveries.
Maintain accurate job records, including daily dockets, job sheets, and timesheets.
Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Certificate III in Plumbing and current QBCC plumbing licence.
White Card and current driver’s licence.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in civil or construction-based plumbing.
Strong understanding of WHS obligations, including SWMS and risk assessments.
Proven ability to work unsupervised and meet project deadlines.
Desirable
Confined space, trenching, or working at heights tickets.
Experience with GPS or laser-guided equipment.
Ability to lead a small team or mentor apprentices.
