About the Role
As the Quality Advisor within the National Public Health Service Te Waipounamu, you will provide expert advice, coordination and support to strengthen quality assurance and continuous improvement across the region. You will lead and contribute to the delivery of the Quality Assurance & Improvement Plan, coordinate internal audits and reporting, and partner with clinical, programme and quality teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to risk, safety and service delivery. You'll also support robust information management and capability building across the organisation, while championing equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of quality improvement.

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver Public Health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. Across Te Waipounamu we have kaimahi working from offices in Nelson, Blenheim, Greymouth, Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Dunedin, Queenstown & Invercargill.
About you
You are a motivated and collaborative professional with a passion for quality improvement in Public Health. You bring strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. Importantly, you'll thrive on “getting things done with good”.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:
A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in quality, Public Health or a related field
Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in practice
Strong analytical, organisational and data/reporting skills
Confidence in communicating and influencing across a range of stakeholders
A collaborative, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
A commitment to equity and improving outcomes for Māori and Pacific communities
Integrity, accountability and a drive to deliver high-quality results
