The Opportunity:
As a QA Engineer you will utilize superior knowledge and experience to perform highly complex product architecture, design, systems analysis, research, maintenance, troubleshooting and other programming activities. You will also play a key role in the development of work teams by providing others with direction and leadership. You will also be involved in cross-team planning activities such as providing status updates and coordinating activities
As a QA Engineer working on Vertica Accelerator, our Database-as-a-Service offering, you will contribute to both quality and usability. You will use existing test infrastructure where possible and design and implement new test infrastructure as necessary. You will design and implement automated tests to validate product quality now and for future releases. You will use python, Go, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Postman, and other tools to perform your work. There is a lot of gratifying work to be done. It is an exciting time to join the team
You are great at:
Develop and maintain test strategies and test cases while performing all testing activities including functional, integration and regression testing
Design/Develop/Maintain the Automation Framework. Also setup regular execution test-beds for continuous delivery
Identify, isolate, regress and communicate bugs effectively and efficiently
Evaluate and communicate test coverage, red flags- and anomalies to the Scrum team to aid in making the decision to certify releases.
Work with a diverse set of enterprise applications
Perform business/requirements analysis and identify requirements traceability
Responsibility for design and directing the creation of realistic and high-end test environments. These will include use of appropriate data sets, optimal configuration of all products and supporting infrastructure components
Ensuring complete understanding and effective documentation of performance requirements test plans, and analysis methodologies to design product usage scenarios that, when run over a volume of requests, determine the responsiveness and scalability of the given operations on the given deployment architecture
Experience to choose the most effective load test clients and be well versed in resource monitoring tools and techniques in a wide variety of environments
Demonstration of exceptional abilities to diagnose and troubleshoot product and environmental issues as they arise
What it takes:
Design and implement test automation infrastructure
Design and write automated tests that validate performance, stability, and functionality
Provide input into feature specification and design
Provide feedback on early-stage feature usability
BS in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years of experience
Comfortable with Linux command line and scripting in Bash or Python
Excellent communication, ability to describe a problem in a technical manner
Experience in administration: AWS Lambda, Fargate, Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipeline, infrastructure as code
Experience with administering a database
Experience in automation development and configuration management
Have been working on projects with Python, Node.js, GoLang
