Opportunity currently exists for a Quality Assurance Manager to join and lead the Quality team based in our Campbellfield Factory. The Campbellfield factory produces confectionary brands such as Kit Kat, Nestlé, Milky Bar, Smarties, Aero, Chokito and many more which delight consumers worldwide.

In this role, the QA Manager will be the guardian of food safety and compliance; and the challenger of all functions to drive Nestle Continuous Excellence in the pursuit of zero defects as the essential base for maintaining consumer trust and preference.

A day in the life…

Reporting to the Factory Manager in a full-time on-site role supporting a dynamic 24/7 operation producing global brands, key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Lead a quality improvement-driven team to strive for consumer satisfaction, elimination of loss and waste in all process streams, and a consumer quality focus in all operations employees.

Ensure maintenance and execution of all elements of the Quality System, including Release for Supply; GMP and hygienic practices; HACCP; execution of monitoring programs; and SAP-QMS.

Be accountable for the execution of the audit program, including annual development of the audit schedule; execution of the internal audit plan; and close out of gaps identified.

Develop and maintain competencies and awareness, both within the QA Team and the larger factory team, for Food Safety; Quality Concepts; and GMP.

Ensure implementation and execution of root cause analysis and CAPA to ensure continuous improvement.

Be the Quality Pillar Lead for the site, ensuring coaching of the factory team to drive online improvement to quality requirements; and execution of the methodologies to drive improvement.

Be the factory lead for implementation and execution of FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, and TGA PIC/S.

Ensure TGA GMP requirements are upheld including ensuring that products are produced and stored according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality.

Perform inspection, investigation, and taking of samples, in order to monitor factors which may affect product quality

What will make you successful

Joining and leading a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes

University graduate or equivalent (preferred Microbiology, Chemistry or Food Science)

5+ experience in a similar role, ideally within Food manufacturing

Demonstrated capability to lead a group, e.g.: Group leader in a factory: QA specialist in a PTC or R&D Centre or similar

Systems (SAP) and data systems fluency, including use of data analytical tools to prioritise and drive quality improvement focus

Strong experience in food manufacturing standards as applied in the confectionery sector

Knowledge of pharmaceutical standards in manufacturing preferred

Management exposure across several functions

Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams

Strong communication skills, setting vision and world class standards in food safety, quality and consumer satisfaction
