This role may be based out of our Whitby, Scarborough, or Aurora Labs.
Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory and field tests in compliance with prevailing standards and procedures
Perform field quality control testing (Material Sampling, Compaction, Coring)
Examine the samples provided and work being performed and advise on any discrepancies on test or field reports or activities
Advise the Superintendent/Supervisor of any quality issues or failures in the form of non – conformances and work to resolve deficiencies
Ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated
Be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety guidelines
Follow our Quality Control Management Systems
Requirements
Willingness to work day or night shifts interchangeably
Available to work weekends
Post-secondary education in a civil engineering or related field, an asset but not required
Background of aggregate use in road building, concrete, recycling, and asphalt production an asset
Excellent communications skills
Excellent Mathematical skills
Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word)
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
G License with Clean Driver’s Abstract
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather
Compensation
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
