Job Description
We're currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist I to engage in vital Servicing Quality Control (SQC) activities. In this role, you will: (i) identify the necessary documentation for data capture, (ii) meticulously capture information within our systems, (iii) apply embedded rules against this data, and (iv) validate and apply exceptions as appropriate. Your expertise will also extend to performing rigorous reviews to ensure compliance with various servicing guidelines such as FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, USDA, and CFPB.
This position may require occasional travel to client sites for servicing QC reviews. You will focus on servicing current loans—covering areas including new loan setups, loan transfers, ARM loans, escrow management, and borrower relations. As a Specialist I, you’ll conduct your own reviews, as well as secondary reviews of your peers' work, ensuring a thorough understanding of all applicable review scopes to provide constructive loan-level feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze loan packages and servicing guidelines to determine necessary documentation.
• Conduct quality control reviews for peer submissions.
• Ensure accuracy in report extracts, including the number of files audited and exceptions identified.
• Participate in client-facing discussions to present audit findings and defend outcomes.
• Act as a subject matter expert for internal and client-facing inquiries.
• Accurately track and document the information from reviews in designated systems.
• Troubleshoot issues with files, reporting problems to management as needed.
• Maintain high standards in loan file reviews, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain punctual attendance and adhere to all company policies.
Qualifications:
• A college degree or training in Finance or mortgage banking, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• This role is suited for entry-level candidates with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products and strong PC skills.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and judgment skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Possess a strong understanding of residential mortgage servicing practices, regulations, and potential fraud indicators.
• Able to assess payment histories and servicing comments effectively.
The annual full-time salary range for this position is $52,000.00 - $60,000.00. Specific compensation will be determined based on interviews and relevant qualifications. Full-time employees are eligible for a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401K plans, as detailed in company policies.
