Job Description
Our client, a growing biotechnology company, is searching for a QC Technician to join their team based in Farnborough on a permanent basis. As QC Technician, you will work in their product release testing team having a primary focus on supporting QC microbiological testing, batch release assays and development of new test methods.
QC Technician responsibilities
• Regular QC testing and analyses for product releases
• Ad hoc testing of production samples
• Timely completion of QC reports as part of QMS
• Supporting the development of new QC assays
• Prepare lab media and reagents for testing
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment regularly
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
QC Technician requirements
• BTEC, NVQ, A-Level or BSc in a related field of study (microbiology)
• Experience working in a molecular biology or microbiology testing laboratory
• Proficiency in dilution plating and qPCR assay techniques.
• Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Experience working with SOPs
• Excellent aseptic techniques and lab record-keeping skills
• Data analysis and reporting skills
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
This is a full-time permanent position with the team – 37.5hrs with a working schedule that includes at least one day of weekend cover (e.g., Tue-Sat, Wed-Sun, Sat-Wed, or Sun-Thu).
You must be able to provide your own transportation to the site.
