Summary:
The Quality Control Technician has a responsibility for maintaining and implementing quality-control procedures, testing products, and recording and analyzing results data during product development and manufacturing.

QC Job Duties:
Quality Line Checks for production line and dispensing room
Sampling Raw materials and Finished Product
Coordinating testing with third party labs
Multi-quat range testing
Temperature checks for sanitation equipment
Preform water activity testing and release product for final packaging
Coordinate coating process and release product for coating procedure
Verification of line cleaning by visual inspection and ATP swabbing
Verification of Changeover line Clearance
CCP verification
Pre-operation sanitation inspection
Sharp object control documentation review
Register of plastic and glass monthly
Take samples for environmental testing (water, air and swabs) and coordinate with lab
GMP weekly checks
Monthly Light intensity checks
Mandatory annual Food Safety & GMP training
Preform internal calibration for equipment such as scale, pH, Aw &Brix Meter
Daily task assigned by Quality manager (releasing on hold products, customer complaints, etc)
Initiate reports such as Deviation and Nonconformance reports, CAPA reports, Maintenance Request forms, etc.
Prioritizes sustainability and the environment when engaged in business relations
QA Specialist Job Duties
The QA Specialist’s main responsibility is to work collaboratively with the Operations team to ensure quality, regulatory, and customer requirements are met during the manufacturing and packaging process.
Identify and resolve production, process, or product issues, and participate in finding solutions
Review batch records and ensure the records are complete as per Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Certificate of Analysis creation
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections and reports
Aid the QA Manager with respect to investigation of Non-conformance Reports and Complaints
Provide assistance to the QA Manager with respect to following through on corrective actions
Develop, review, and circulate SOPs for approval
Follow and adhere to all instructions given including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GMP
Adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
Train the production team about quality concerns to improve product excellence.
Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
Assist with the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance and control systems in strict compliance with the applicable GMP and Food Safety regulations
Knowledge of a range of Regulatory Requirements, Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills that contribute to the team environment and the achievement of department business goals
Evaluate, enhance and measure quality management systems.
Coordinate and conduct internal audits in accordance with the QA internal audit schedule and with the individual responsible to come up
with corrective and preventative actions from audits, and track completion.
Identify problems and bottlenecks related to HACCP and ISO certification and recommend solutions where appropriate.
Follow up with other departments on non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions, and validation activities to ensure completion
in a timely manner.
Monitors and maintains QA records.
Collects supplier and contractor facility documentation in accordance with the Vendor Approval system.
Performs QA programs training with employees, visitors, and contractors (including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices and
Food Safety training, Prerequisite program training, and Quality Policies and procedures)
Participate in customer complaint investigations and responses as they relate to quality.
Participate with the approval of vendors and contract labs as required.
Assist QA Manager with activities that support site inspections by Health Canada and other regulatory inspections, site readiness for
inspections.
Assist the QA Manager in the establishment of corporate quality systems by providing input on quality and regulatory strategies
Requirements:
Science Degree or relevant Technical Diploma preferred in either Life, Food or Health related Science or combination of experience and education.
Minimum 1 year experience in a quality related role
Previous experience in HACCP/HARPC
Skilled in quality processes and statistical techniques. Previous Audit participation would be considered an asset.
knowledgeable about measurement and test equipment.
Knowledge of a range of Regulatory Requirements, Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Good knowledge of quality control statistics and documentation, as well as adherence to standard operating procedures.
Reduce environmental impact whenever possible
Have a good attendance and safety record.
Work Conditions:
Job requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment
High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross-train.
Occasional overtime may be required, travel between our locations in Richmond, BC will be required.
Be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player
Training:
On the job training will be provided and evaluated upon completion.
