As an automation Quality Engineer you will Apply, design and develop automated tests to support the ongoing Automation initiatives and strategy within Payments technology.
In this role you will:
Play a key role in Automation Testing using the technical mastery in automation tools and technologies.
Automation test strategy planning and its implementation
Showcase thorough knowledge of the principles of Integration, API and backend testing; contribute towards the evolution of the test engineering practices.
Defect Management/Triage
Testing requirement analysis and refinements
Reporting and adherence to compliance
TSR Preparation, Demo preparation, reporting and presentation
Maintaining the testing Artefacts
Achieving high level of efficiency and effectiveness in testing deliverables
Collaborate with the Product Owner, Developers, Business analysts and other people in the Squad to identify risks and help to prevent and fix bugs as they arise, improving quality from the outset. (Test early and test often)
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and to understand and manage stakeholder expectations.

What will your day look like
As an automation Quality Engineer you will apply, design and develop automated tests to support the ongoing Automation initiatives and strategy within the Domestic Services Tech Area. You will work in a squad, or possibly across multiple squads with analysts, engineers and Product Owners to understand the requirements and to ensure the delivery of work meets customer expectations.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Must:
Automation test engineer experience of 7+ years with expertise in testing methodologies and testing practices; a strong foundation in Test Automation, specifically with TOSCA
Proven Experience in Automation of web-based/client server apps, Micro Services, APIs, Non UI and Big Data.
Experience in driving test automation initiatives or propagating automation frameworks
Experience Agile Test Practices and Continuous Testing approach
Effective verbal & written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and define problem statements
Conversant with middleware technologies such as MQ, Data Power, KAFKA, etc.
Experience using SQL with regard to writing and understanding queries and procedures.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Agile Test Practices, Dev-Ops and CI/CD
Proven working experience on tools that support test automation like Postman, RestAssured, Playwright, SOAPUI, Jenkins
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python
Experience in APIs, microservices and related concepts
Experience using version control tools e.g., Git, Bitbucket.
Experience in creating and executing automation scripts for System Test, Integration test, Progression, Regression.
Keen eye for detail, be able to identify issues and errors, and possess the ability to document them accurately.
Experience in managing Agile projects and tools like Jira, Confluence, X-ray.
Plans, directs and participates in complex system Implementation and testing.
Good to have:
Domain knowledge of Finance primarily in payments i.e. high value and international payments, clearing networks (RTGS, Swift), Processing, settlement and Reconciliation would be an advantage.
Experience with Test management tools (ALM / QTest / Zephyr)
Process modelling & Data modelling
Database querying tools & Data analytics
Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB / CSTE).
Knowledge of –Security & Penetration Testing, Performance & Volume Testing
Soft skills:
Be a self-motivated, proactive as well as an active collaborator.
Strong stakeholder management skills, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to negotiate with and influence stake holders.
