Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Technician position will be key in supporting the HGI efforts to build on and improve its current level of quality in the marketplace

Overall support of product quality and process improvement initiatives is critical in this position

Supports the Quality Assurance Manager on the development and enforcement of raw material standards, inspections of raw/ finished goods, product returns, and train/assist in processes to review and conduct/review internal audits

Responsible for tracking and entering reject raw material information

Provides Quality Assurance Manager and Procurement with reject information

Helps to support any product testing to maintain accurate assessment of product quality characteristics

Work with plant personnel in setting up trials and report evaluations of new materials, processes and procedures

Work with the Quality Assurance Manager in establishing quality standards for all products and product attributes as well as investigating to resolve any complaints regarding quality and service

Assist with the development of common quality metrics, capture data and provide information by value stream

Key contributor in the preparation for third party audits

Engage in inspection and testing activities to ensure raw materials and products meet specified requirements

Plays a key role in achieving Food Safety objectives and support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF system

Back up for the Quality Assurance Manager in his/her absence

Follow and Maintain all Food Safety, GMP and HACCP Guidelines

May cover various shifts as needed

Other duties assigned as needed

Primary Purpose Of The Role
